Contrology offers in network physical therapy for the following insurance providers: Medicare, Aetna, and Neighborhood Health Plan.
In our pursuit of excellence, our clinic has transitioned to a private pay model of business and is out of network for all other insurance providers that are not listed above. With the current climate in health care, reimbursement rates are not sustainable to maintain the quality of care that we provide. Upon request, we will provide you with a paper bill which you may submit independently for out of network reimbursement, although not guaranteed depending on your insurance plan.
Benefits to our private pay model:
Only Medicare patients need referrals. However, it is always a good idea to inquire with your insurance company about prior authorization. For most in Rhode Island, there is “Direct Access” for physical therapy services. This means most patients can seek physical therapy without a physician referral. Then if further physical therapy is necessary after a three month period, you are required to see your physician to obtain a prescription for further treatment.
No, your insurance will not pay for Pilates or sports conditioning. If you are under the care of a PT, and Pilates or sports conditioning would benefit you as part of your rehabilitation, the PT will direct your Pilates exercise or sports conditioning exercise as part of your visit.
Please wear loose-fitting or workout wear. Shorts, tank tops, sweats or yoga/fitness clothing are all appropriate. Please bring or wear sneakers.
Anywhere from 45-90 minutes depending on your injury.
Although rehabilitation from injury is never easy, at Contrology we make every effort to make you comfortable during your treatment.
